That clears up if there is a waiting room or not, but now I'm confused about the "body reuniting with the spirit" part. So when we die, our spirit goes to where it will go, but then on Judgement day, our bodies (dead bodies) reunite with the spirit, and then stand before God? And if that's the case, is there a way that your spirit can be judged and then sent from Heaven to hell? or from hell to heaven? I know that in Matthew it talks a little about how when Jesus spirit left Him on the cross and went into heaven, there were spirits from saints or prophets that re entered their bodies and went and spoke with people... something along those lines. Is that kind of what will happen?

I think I'm mainly confused on if your spirit already knows where it is going to go, why does it need to reunite with the body?

I think the key to that answer is in Luke 1:35 ... the Most High will overshadow you... that would probably be overshadowing Marys sinful nature to make the perfected Christ born without sin.
